    Locify.com - Mobile Twitter

    locify

Locify is the latest in mobile phone web applications. It takes advantage of your phone’s internal or external GPS system and finds information that’s relevant to your location. It’s great for Twitter users who want to keep their followers apprised of their location and update status. And you don’t have to have a fancy mobile to use it. So imagine, you do a lot of traveling and always want to check the hottest and greatest sights in town. Locify can do it. It can do pretty much anything users want—it’s open source and encourages third party app making. In fact, you can even get use out of it without GPS.

    In their own words

“Locify is free application for common mobile phone. It can use phone's internal GPS or connected bluetooth GPS or it is fairly usable even without GPS at all.”

Why it might be a killer

Locify is nice because it’s entirely mobile. It’s web-based so you don’t need a desktop to use—just a phone and you’re good to go. Twitter users ought to have a field day.

    Some questions

What does Locify bring to the mobile table, so to speak, that already hasn’t been done? How will they outshine the rest? And what’s the goal?
