DialPlus.net - Instantly Delivers Info to Your Cellular

Dial Plus is a new service which gives cell phone users instant visual information relating to the numbers they call. Once you call a business, a data box presenting info such as directions, maps, ratings and reviews will pop up on the cell screen. Calls can be dialed via your Addressbook, 411 or recent calls—DialPlus doesn’t discriminate, which means it doesn’t matter how you place your calls. You too can link your MySpace or Facebook profile to show up when you call friends or family. Of course, your friends can do the same. Currently, DialPlus supports Windows enabled devices, with Blackberry, Symbian and Java support coming soon. Users do have to download the app, but all information is provided through the phone’s browser.

DialPlus delivers information to you instantly; it’s useful to have extra data presented to you without having to do any extra work. Plus, being able to hook up your profile extends your networking capabilities.

Some of the features don’t seem to mesh well. Will people care to look at their friend’s profiles while chatting? And of course, there’s the actual practical handicap—it will be hard to look at the information on the screen unless you’ve got headphones or are using speaker phone.
