Beta.Xsights-Services.com - Making Pictures Go Dynamic

    beta

A service which is pretty novel, Xsights will empower you to take a picture (any picture) and imbue it with interactive features. Using the site you can upload any picture you want and have it connected with a public video or similar from any popular hosting service today a la YouTube, Vimeo or Picasa. By doing so, you will make your image go interactive. Those who see this picture that you have preset will be able to access the multimedia content that you had associated to it, and learn more in that dynamic way.

For example, if you take a movie poster and link it to the trailer found within YouTube people who shoot that poster will be capable of accessing the trailer in a breeze, without the need to go hunting all across the web for it. And a system like Xsights also makes for finding directions by the linking of photographs, and so on.

This is an interesting development for sure. Once an active community is on the loose, the results will be something to watch out for. Until that moment arrives, it will all remain a personalized experience, though.

    In their own words

“Xsights™ brings the web's experience to any static object, adding dynamic multimedia content via the mobile phone. Try it.”

Why it might be a killer

It offers pivotal information in a highly-dynamic fashion – you simply capture an image and have the corresponding information at your fingertips.

    Some questions

How long can it take for something like this to truly catch on?
