Bar codes are already a part of our ever day life and it would appear that they are going to become an increasingly important part of it in the near future. ScanLife, a company that provides mobile barcoding solutions, is hedging its bets on bar codes becoming adopted on a large scale, and it is developing technologies accordingly. The ScanLife solution allows companies and advertisers to create there very own barcodes that can be used to effortlessly point someone to a URL, for coupons, show times or reminders. Once they’ve created the barcode, it can be inserted into any type of advertising like flyers, posters, magazines, public signs etcetera. The solution is now available for the iPhone making it simple for people to take a snapshot of these barcodes, and then be taken automatically to the URL of that barcode.
