Zadby.com - Product Placement Marketplace for Youtube

    zadby

Zadby is an online marketplace specializing in connecting advertisers with video producers for popular sites like YouTube. With millions of YouTube videos being watched everyday, it should come as no surprise that brand managers everywhere would seek a way to advertise to these viewers. Traditional commercials don’t work in the video clip world, but product placement is an excellent means of generating brand awareness and increasing market share. Zadby allows brand managers to set up an account and then post that they would like their product placed. Video producers, with an already existing following, can continue to make their show as always but make a little bit of extra cash by placing a product in their videos.

    In their own words

“Zadby is an online marketplace where advertisers, marketers, and brand managers can connect with freelance video producers to create innovative product placement videos tailored for sites like YouTube and MySpace. Zadby facilitates the creation, posting, tracking, and payment for online videos with product placement angles.”

Why it might be a killer

Product placement works and it solves the problem of how to advertise in a world dominated by video clips and Tivo. In helping to put video producers and brand managers together, Zadby might just have the best model for generating revenues and increasing brand awareness.

    Some questions

Brand placement is a bit controversial especially given that it can lead to subliminal advertising. Will regulators monitor this type of advertising online in fear of people being unknowingly swayed towards one brand or another?
