Remember what it was like diving into a new picture book, all high lustered and glossy with brilliant illustrations on every page? With LookyBook, a site dedicated to picture books, you can virtually leaf through children’s illustrated books. While it’s not exactly the same as holding an actual book between your hands, it does give you a good idea of what books are worth buying for your kids, or even for yourself, if you’re indulgent. There’s a wide selection of books available, including Alphabeasts, a sort of Animalia copy filled with slithering animals and alphabetic prose, No Dragons for Tea, about dragons and fires, and Canda 123, about the Great North. You can create your own personal bookshelf, after registration. You can also buy the books, review them, and share them with friends. New books are added often.

“Welcome. Picture books are for looking at—so we’ve made it possible to view entire books—from cover to back, in all their splendor. We’ll never replace an actual book n your hands, but we will show you new books and help you make informed choices for you and your kids.”
