    kiptronic

Kiptronic is an advertising insertion service for downloadable media. Their ads can be inserted into video and audio files without the need to alter the existing content. Whether you’re a new and independent publisher or a renowned media outlet, Kiptronic can be easily integrated; their ads are flexible and work around your infrastructure. There’s a sizeable audience for downloadable media too; think about all those iPods, Blackberries and laptops. Kiptronic covers 20 million monthly downloads; they negotiate with advertisers so you don’t have to worry about it. Kiptronic’s clientele includes media publisher Condenet. Signing up for an account is free and you can take a peek at their ads on their site.

    In their own words

“We’re glad you stopped by. We enable media publishers of all sizes to generate revenue by providing a flexible, easy-to-use ad insertion technology service for downloadable media. We work with key brands and agencies to develop the digital media advertising campaigns that provide the return-on-investment they’re looking for.”

Why it might be a killer

Downloadable media is a huge market. Amateur podcasters could use the service to make a profit and offer better content. Large media companies can use Kiptronic to make even more money. Their service is drafted around the clients existing content, so nothing changes; the work is all done by Kiptronic. Video advertising especially for downloaded content is relatively new, so Kiptronic’s got a good head start.

    Some questions

The download market is huge, but a lot of downloads come from p2p services and the like which means the ads wouldn’t be heard or seen. Consumers who do purchase items for download most likely won’t be keen on having ads thrown in either. How smooth are the transitions between ads and content?
