In business it is usually the people who pioneer a new frontier that get in, make a mark and start making the big money. JiWire.com may have found themselves a niche to propel them into that frontier. They service that they are offering is advertising to people logging on to use WiFi at particular locations, for instance, if a person was to walk into an WiFi enabled cafe with their iMac and attempted to connect to the internet, that person would have to click through a few advertisements before they are able to completely access the internet. The company JiWire states that the advertising will target affluent business people and travelers. This of course would include the cooperation of the owners of the WiFi connection, who would take part in the profits as well.

| Why it might be a killer | |||
Since no one is really taking advantage of this market right now, this could be the perfect time for a company like JiWire to start it off and grab the market share before others get into it. It shouldn't get much resistance from the cafe owners who will get a few extra bucks from it as well.
| Some questions | |||
Will people be willing to persevere through looking through ads while they are trying to get on the internet or will they feel that it is an intrusion? This could really annoy people attempting to get on the internet.

| Jiwire seems to be the pioneer in this space. This is an area that seems to up and down. Most all the Muni wifi build outs lost their contracts in 2007. A few still survive. Too expensive to run a network. It seems the better way is to find something more grass roots like meraki or www.silverliningnetworks.com for Wifi Advertising. Companies that are relying on a grass roots movemetns to build out the nations wifi network. | ||

| I hate having to surf through ads but I have to admit that from an advertising standpoint they do have me as a captive audience when I want to connect to a hotspot | ||
