Blogkits.com proposes that the best way to earn money on a blog is NOT pay-per-click, but rather pay per sale. Bloggers who sign up for Blogkits.com agree to have ads from various sectors located somewhere on their blog. If a blog reader clicks through to the ad's site and makes a purchase, the blogger earns a 10% commission. The ads chosen for a specific blog are relevant to the intended audience and should therefore bring in some money for the blogger. To sign up Blogkits.com requires all the usual information plus a social security number. This could be a potential problem for people who are uncomfortable putting their SS online. The site promises security, but one can really never be sure. After registering, bloggers add a simple code to their blog and wait for someone to buy from the ad's website. Money is sent monthly. There are two options for ads: sidebar and text ads. A sidebar banner is subtle and fits into blog sidebars, while Text ads fit under blog entries. Current Blogkit partners include but are not limited to Zappos.com, Lending Tree, Ebay, Paypal, Travelocity, and Starbucks store.

This seems like a good option for bloggers who are desperate for some extra cash however I am skeptical of how much money will actually be accumulated. Blogkits.com acts as the middleman and after stores report the commission then Blogkits.com sends the money. It is a long line of transfers. However, if a blogger gets lucky with a good ad during Christmas shopping time they could really make some big bucks.

Why is a social security number needed? Is there another way besides putting the SS online?
