adCause.com - Sell Ad Space Within Your Twitter Stream

    adcause

Monetizing Twitter is one of the hottest topics around, and a question that has more than one expert (and pundit) guessing away. Enter adCause, a new advertising service that offers its own take on the dilemma.

Essentially, adCause connects Twitter users with those businesses looking for advertising channels by creating a platform whereby Twitterers offer their feeds as ad space. This way, Twitter users become something akin to publishers, and the advertisers can reach an audience that has been specifically targeted.

The process for becoming part of this system is quite straightforward in itself. All you have to do is update your Twitter account employing the adCause setup, and then you are paid as people follow you. Of course, the more friends you make along the way then the more you will earn.

Whether Twitterers will accept intrusive elements like advertisements in their best-loved platform remains moot, but generally speaking the system benefits both parties, and it has the potential for causing quite a bit of a stir. Let’s just hope that it does not redound to a deluge of banners all over streams that taints the concept as a whole.

    In their own words

“adCause connects twitter users with businesses looking to advertise. Twitter users become publishers, and can then make money by displaying relevant ads in their twitter feed. Businesses use the publisher's twitter feed to advertise their product or service to a target audience.”

Why it might be a killer

It might just be a suitable solution for making money out of Twitter, provided everything is kept on check and the ads themselves do not go overboard.

    Some questions

How much could you earn through such a system?
