Sponsored Online offers free advertising space for your eBay items. Both sellers and buyers are entitled to a my.MiniBay section in which they can freely advertise their eBay item. The concept is similar to the MillionDollarHomepage and offshoots such as Pixelotto. While users can post their items without paying a cent, there is space reserved for paid adverts. These billboard spots, dubbed million dollar sponsors and major sponsors are for eBay store owners and each incur an advertising charge. There are 136 spaces available, and each can have more than one sponsor. Each location costs $100, but that amount is upped by 25% with each new sponsor. Currently there aren’t any million dollar or platinum sponsors, but there are twelve items listed in the miniBay section.

This gig’s been done, but not unsuccessfully. This will work if more users advertise their eBay items—it is after all, not such a shabby idea. eBay users get free marketing, while the husband and wife team behind Sponsored will get to pay off their mortgage.
