    MogoTXT.com - Message Your Best-loved Sports Stars

    mogotxt

Some celebrities are known to tweet, but you can count them on one hand. Moreover, they do not tweet that frequently, and some that attracted a lot of initial attention like Britney Spears did not live up to expectations. A resource like the one we are reviewing now stands as a viable alternative for big names and punters to connect and interact as one.

Users create groups for reference purposes, and for staying in touch with each other more easily. Unlike Twitter, group messages are kept as private and only the people making up each group can read them.

The service has just launched, and some stars that are already featured include Eric Gordon, Shane Battier and Jordon Farmar – that is, all names that will ring a bell with sports adepts the country over.

In principle, the service is rendered free of charge but note that standard text message rates may apply. Just make sure to check out beforehand, and if all is well you can start connecting and interacting with those that you admire and who inspire you to do better.

    In their own words

“MogoTXT is about making text messaging more fun and useful that it already is. We just launched our new service that lets you sign up to receive text messages from your favorite sports stars and celebrities. Please try it out and come back often as we will be adding more sports stars and celebrities we know you will want to follow.”

Why it might be a killer

People have an insatiable liking for services such as this one, for the simple reason that they want to get close to those they admire and get to know them better.

    Some questions

How many stars are already featured? How often are new ones added?
