indieKarma is a user-driven support network aimed at funding independent blogs and websites registered on the indieKarma network, one cent at a time. For an initial US$1, participating members can create an account. Each time a blog or website on the network is visited, one cent is debited from that user’s account and given to the visited blog or website. The concept is that while one cent may not be a great burden on the donator, it may have a significant financial impact on the independent blog or website. Donations are tracked through widgets, which acknowledge all donors on the site, and give special attention to the top donor. Site members may choose to add additional credit to their account, helping to sustain independent sites and blogs.

“How does this work? Easy. Join the indieKarma network and add one dollar to your account (for the first 5000 accounts, this dollar is free). Each time you visit a website or blog on the indieKarma network, your account is seamlessly debited just one cent. It's the smallest of micro-payments, directly supporting the blog or website you're enjoying. If you so choose - you may edit your donation to more - or nothing at all. On each blog or website that uses the indieKarma system you'll see a small widget displaying the last donor and the highest contributing donor to the site. As a donor, you will be able to create a profile that will show your support for the sites you visit and donate to.”
