Did you ever get the feeling that if you could transform those commuting hours into reading time you would be able to get a lot more done? Did you ever transcend the stage of thinking about it, and try to get an audio-book? Well, here comes something much better than audio-books, with the help of dixero now you can make your RSS feeds into podcasts; the best thing of it all is that you can do all of this for free. One thing to have in mind is that the site is still in its Beta stages, so its services have not yet been fully launched. However, site visitors are encouraged to request an invite so as to begin using the initial features of the site. In order to take a peek of what the results are like, have a look at the demos available from the site, where you will be able to listen to some podcasts on highlighted issues (entertainment and technology, for the time being).

This is just a great service, the main reason being that you can actually choose what you want to listen to, as opposed to having to choose from a given list of podcasts available. Also, although the audio is not read by a person (the emphasis are at times a bit odd), it sounds very natural to me. I am guessing that people with visual impairments are going to be thrilled about this killer startup.

Because this service is just so great, it seems to me that it should be available in several languages, but I did not find any notice in regards to that. Taking into account that they still are in beta version, they probably have time to squeeze a few language options into the improved version, will they?
