If you want to find out how many people are visiting different pages within a given website at a given moment, hit up Cownter for a quick and easy way of getting a proverbial head count. To implement the service (which you can only do if you're a webmaster), pick a username, password, and then enter in your domain name. Next, cut and paste the javascript into your site's html, and you're done. You also have the option of enabling the "Cownter button", which will allow your visitors to toggle the bubbles on and off. When the button is on, your visitors can mouse over a link, and a pop-up balloon will display the number of users currently visiting that page.

Cownter is a free and easy way to see how many visitors are hanging out on which pages within your site. I imagine it would be useful mainly for larger sites which pull a reasonable number of visitor per hour, as well as a good mechanism for observing traffic flow on your site to determine which pages are the most and least popular.
Cownter currently says they can't handle sites with really large amounts of traffic (over 100,000 users/hour). Does Cownter plan on expanding its services to support such sites?
