Blogwerx.com - Sentinel Combats Plagiarizers on the Web

    blogwerx

In an effort to combat plagiarism and content robbery, Blogwerx has released Sentinel. How it works: Sentinel monitors your content, and scans the web after you register, adding your blog feed to the service. It constantly crawls the web searching for unlawful reproduction of your goods. Results are returned within days, or even quicker. Notifications are sent out automatically; you choose who to blacklist. But simply catching the sploggers isn’t where it stops. Users can send out pre written DMCA notices which will be set out by Sentinel on your behalf. The basic solution is free. More advanced packages start at $5 a month.

    In their own words

“A solution to combat an ever growing issue, blog content theft and plagiarism. Blogs over the past 2 years have grown at a staggering rate. Blogs have been adopted by people wanting to discuss today's events, corporations that want to put a human identity to the giant and traditional print media outlets that have noticed double digit gains in their blog readership over their print.”

Why it might be a killer

Plagiarism is a very real and growing problem as blogging becomes more popular. Sentinel offers an effective way to combat sploggers. Using the tool, legit bloggers can actually stop sploggers with letters and lists.

    Some questions

Will Sentinel offer some means to find plagiarized content that’s been translated? Will they compile a public list of known sploggers, making the tool even more effective? When will the whole site be up and running?
