Blogcosm is a metablog. It's a blog about blogs.

At its core, Blogcosm is strictly about the data. It's a reference site which aims to get to the bottom of what's going on in the blogosphere and all the data circulating around it. You'll find lists of the top blogs in each of their respective categories, e.g. arts and humanities, business, entertainment, etc. There's a people index, blog profiles, events, and categories. Information is compiled from sites like Technorati and Alexa. The site has its own blog which endeavors to sort out all the underlying trends and happenings within the blogging world itself. Blogcosm covers a lot of ground; it focuses on all aspects of blogging, not simply tech-geared blogs, although there does seem to be a greater emphasis there. The blog has its work cut out for itself. There's still much to be done, but, it's a good start.

Blogcosm has a lofty goal. It's far reaching, but so far, it's not too shabby. You'll get in-depth reports, data compilations, lists, and discussions. For those interested in plumbing the blogosphere and finding out what makes it tick, Blogcosm is the place to go.

This site as you'll see is far more concerned with data than with anything that resembles aesthetics. Besides the ugly face, Blogcosm is over reaching itself, it has a lot of ground to cover and one person can't possible process all that info. There are sections in Blogcosm which are lacking to say the least. Will Lawton be able to keep it up?
